HOMING @ ANTHROMOB_EASA: FINDING HOME IN EUROPE (ONLINE BOOK LAUNCH, 6 NOVEMBER)

Luis Eduardo Pérez Murcia and Sara Bonfanti will give an online presentation of their coedited book Finding home in Europe next 6 November at 5pm CET. Their lecture is part of the MoMo Lecture Series (Moving Mobilities Online) convened by the EASA Anthropology and Mobility (ANTHROMOB) Network. Bringing together the voices of nine individuals from an archive of over two hundred in‐depth
interviews with transnational migrants and refugees across five European countries, the book critically engages with how home is experienced by those who move among changing social and cultural constraints. Conscious of the political strength of their voices, migrants and asylum seekers speak out loud to the authors, as this volume seeks to challenge the narrative that these people are ‘out of place’ or cannot claim their right to belong. In this talk, Sara and Luis Eduardo will critically reflect on how the idea of building on life story as a method and a result of ethnographic research emerged and how the analysis of the search and struggles for home of nine individuals push the boundaries in which the intersections between home and mobility have been conceptualised. Register in advance for this talk at: https://forms.gle/RZBxMw88S6ihw1tRA
