HOMING @ XX ISA WORLD CONGRESS OF SOCIOLOGY (MELBOURNE, JUNE 25 – JULY 1) 

Paolo Boccagni will participate in the forthcoming World Congress of ISA, the International Sociological Association, in Melbourne. Together with Raelene Wilding from La Trobe University, Paolo has set up a panel on  Smartphones As Micro-Homes, Away from Home? Comparing Forms of Portable and Digital Homemaking Among Migrants and Displaced Young People (Monday 26 June from 3.30pm). Moreover, Paolo will give a presentation on Achieving Normality, Modernity, and the “Good Life”: Migration As Aspired Transition to Adulthood Among Young Asylum Seekers in Italy (Monday 26 June from 6.30pm), as a part of a session on Conceptualising Transnational Youth Mobilities and Transitions amidst Social Challenges.
