GIULIANA COSTA @ HOMING: EMERGING CARE NEEDS AND THE (RE)CONSTRUCTION OF DOMESTIC SPACE

In HOMInG’s seminar no. 13_17 (in Italian), Giuliana Costa (Politecnico, Milano) discusses the prospects for home-making in social welfare practice with vulnerable people leaving their usual domestic arrangements – what “used to be home”. Drawing from instances of housing initiatives for the elderly, the disabled and asylum seekers, and from the subjective experience of clients themselves, Giuliana sketches out a research agenda on the rearrangements of home; a “container” or, possibly, as a new space for autonomy, protection, even belonging. Il video del seminario è particolarmente raccomandato a ricercatori, operatori e studenti dell’housing, delle migrazioni e del lavoro sociale con popolazione vulnerabili.
