Ageing in the context of global migrations

MICRA Webinar Series

What does it mean to age in a context of changing migration flows? The world is rapidly ageing and its migratory patterns are also constantly changing. Three presentations aim to present the latest findings from ongoing research on ageing and migration from different parts of the world. What does it mean to age while your adult children are abroad? How is the experience of migration different for older migrants? What does it mean to care transnationally?

The webinar will be chaired by Professor Christopher Phillipson and will include papers by Tanja Bastia (University of Manchester) and Claudia Calsina Valenzuela (Universidad de San Simon, Cochabamba); Md Farid Miah and Russell King (School of Global Studies, University of Sussex); and Luis Eduardo Perez Murcia (University of Trento).
