50 scholars from 3 continents and 17 different countries gathered on June 5 and 6 at the Department of Sociology, University of Trento at the ‘Researching Home and Migration’ International Workshop.
Rich discussions emerged on the material, social and symbolic dimensions of home under conditions of displacement and extended mobility. The idea that home is not static but a continuous process resonated throughout the event. On that note, we would like to thank all the participants for their intellectual generosity.
To keep the conversation going, we would also like to invite them to share their comments below this post.
I thank the organizing committee for this wonderful event. It was intellectually stimulating and full of wonderful, warm-hearted people! I will certainly do my part to keep the dialogue going, including keeping you all posted on the 2018 Conference on “Migration & Hospitality” to be held in September of next year at my University (Federal University of Paraná, Curitiba, Brazil). Hoping some of you can make it here!
